There is no tabbar toolbar option in View -> Toolbars. If this toolbar is supposed to be customizable like a regular toolbar then an option should be added to the view -> toolbars menu.
No, it doesn't need to be listed there in order to be customizable.

So there will be no way to hide the tabbar toolbar, since the toolbar is non-hide able (in a sense) correct?

How about having the option in the menu when the toolbar is actually hidden though when only one tab is open and the 'browser.tabs.autoHide' preference is set to true.

Yes.

How exactly would that improve the UI?

Because the tabbar would be hidden and this will give the users a way to figure out how to show the tabbar so they can find the new tab button and open a new tab instead of trying to figure out a keyboard shortcut.

Actually now that I think more about it, this wouldn't be a good idea since it would just complexity, the pref was flipped at some point anyways so most end users have the tabbar always showing and if they don't, they can use the File->New Tab

I also thought it make more sense to put this new tab toolbar in the View Toolbars and take it out of the Tools->Options->Tabs Always show tab bar.
This might have made sense if we introduced the pref now, but at this point I'm afraid moving the UI would just confuse more users than help...

I don't understand why this bug is invalid. I understand if it's not under the scope of the "make tabbar a toolbar", although it originally was in the first patches...

But even so this seems like a pretty valid bug as it would provide greater consistency.

Damian, I agree with Dao now that I thought about this more. It really doesn't make sense since the tabbar is always showing any why would anyone want to hide the tabbar and all of their tabs?

Well in the original implementation of the "make tabbar a toolbar" the tabs just became a movable object like everything else. So I used to move the tabs to the menu bar and remove the tabbar viability.

I guess I need to make "make tabs a movable object" bug.

It might be WONTFIX, but I really disagree it's invalid if you had a consistent customization UI.

I dont think it would be unreasonable in the future to say, release notes: version FF x now has consistant UI toolbar customization for all toolbars/objects/menu options as everything is moveable. So I think its probably a reasonable request to push consistancy in say FF 4.
