When I use Firefox to download the Roxio Creator 2010 & 2010Content install files from the Roxio website these .exe files, after decompressing, open HP Update install shield Wizard instead of the correct Roxio installer. Wheh I use Internet Explorer to do the download, the files open the correct Roxio installer and load correctly. This could drive users back to IE. I have not had this problem with any other downloads. My computer is a Sony VGN FZ140E running Vista.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Just download these files (requires that you pay for the software - or contact Roxio)
2.double click to open, let the files unzip, and then the HP Update install shield wizard opens.
3.
Expected Results:
The download should have opened Roxio's install program - it does when I use IE to download.
Roxio Technical support knows about this as of yesterday - but they and I wasted more than 8 hours of my time trying all kinds of other fixes.

Crete a new profile and test.

You are double-clicking from the download manager window? What happens if you clear that window, then try, re-downloading, and double-clicking. How about if you double-click the file in windows explorer.

When I click the download in the Mozilla Firefox download manger window, nothing at all happens, no visible response (which is in itself another aspect I forgot to mention). The problem as I described happens when double clicked in Windows Explorer and the same when right clicked and "run as administrator".

OK, try creating a new profile and testing there.

Do you still see this problem when using a current version?
