Using the www.aol.com e-mail website and while an e-mail body is open the problem exists only when attempting to paste text into the e-mail body. If I right click into the e-mail body (at the end or anywhere after one of the typed words) all of the text is highlighted blue, same as if you were to hold down left mouse button and drag it over all of the text to highlight it. If I choose paste on the right click menu, all of the text is deleted.

I can paste the text before any of the typed text and it works ok and does not highlight or delete anything, but I am unable to place the pasted text in the position I wish for it to be.

Thanks,

Jesse

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open www.aol.com e-mail body to construct an e-mail.
2. Type text into e-mail body.
3. Right click text (text from anywhere on computer) and try to paste copied text prior to typed text and after any of the typed text.

Expected Results:
To be able to paste text into the e-mail body in any location, same as if you use Word or any other computer program or e-mail service.
Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

You can also try to reproduce in Firefox 4 Beta 8 or later, there are many improvements in the new version, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Yes this problem still exists. I have Firefox version 3.6, when I check for updates it says there are none available. So I should have the latest update installed. This is all while not in safe mode. I started Firefox in safe mode (I did not check any of the boxes in the safe mode box) and the problem was still there.
No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.

Hello, I tried this again and still have the same problem. I made a video showing first going to help>updates (no updates were available) and then show the Mozilla version 3.6.13. Then the video shows creating a new profile, starting Firefox, entering text in the e-mail body, pasting test (web URL), then left click in the e-mail body, right click, all of test highlighted blue, choose paste, everything is erased except for the test being pasted. The last portion shows Firefox being opened in safe mode.

It seems after the initial right click, test highlighted blue and erased upon test being pasted, that right click and paste no longer erases text in the e-mail body unless if you were to start composing a new e-mail.
