In Firefox, whether the pointer is above a link, picture, etc., or in blank space, a small blank box appears and does not disappear until the mouse is moved or until I start typing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 2. Place the mouse pointer anywhere inside the Firefox window, excluding the toolbars and the address bar Actual Results: The small white box appears. Expected Results: It should only appear when needed, such as above a link or picture, etc. This bug only happens with Firefox. It doesn't matter what theme.

Could very well be caused by an extension. Can you retest in safe-mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

This happens whether it's in safe mode, private browsing mode, or regular mode.

Can you still reproduce this bug in Firefox 6? Please update to Firefox 6 or later, update your plugins, and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated version of Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME. http://getfirefox.com/
