One tab wouldn't close, I think it was after a javascript pop up occurred.
I could move it to a different position (still wouldn't close after moving) and I could load different sites into it (again still wouldn't close).

The only way I could close it was to restart the browser.

Is it reproducible? If yes, does it also happen in Safe Mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode)?

I don't really remember how it happened to begin with. I just know it took about 5 minutes to realise I couldn't close the tab.
We need such information. So please try to remember on which website it happened and reproduce those steps. If you were able to please comment on that bug. In such a state please also watch for errors in the Error Console which can be found under tools.
I see this on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2

Can't reliably reproduce. But this is what I was doing before I noticed the bug:

I had the Firefox start page and a blank page open in tabs along with working in a couple of google docs spreadsheets in separate tabs. I signed out of google and noticed I could not close the blank tab... nor any tab. Tear away tab creates a new window but the tab still existed, though was broken, in the original window. Nothing in the Error Console.

I do not know whether the following procedure is match the bug.
[STR]
1. Start Namoroka
2. set browser.allTabs.previews to true
3. Open three tabs as follows.
   (tab A) http://www.mozilla.org/projects/namoroka/
   (tab B) test case
   (tab C) http://http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/central/
4. Click "List all tab button"
5. Middle Click on (Tab B) thumbnail (do not click any buttons in popup dialog now)
6. Middle Click on (Tab B) thumbnail again (do not click any buttons in popup dialog now)
7. Middle Click On (Tab B) thumbnail again (do not click any buttons in popup dialog now)
8. Click "Cancel" button in the popup dialog.
9. Move (Tab B) to the after of (Tab C), so that the order of tabs is A C B.
10. Click "OK" button in the popup dialog. (Tab B will be closed)
11. Click "OK" button in the popup dialog. (Nothing happens)
12. Click "x" button of (tab C)

[Actual result]
un-closable tab is generated.
This also happened to me *twice* today first on Namoroka/Ubuntu and then FF 3.6.4/Mac OSX. Don't have Namoroka version at hand, I believe it's latest for beta testers.

It didn't affect only one tab, but all of them. I could create new tabs but existing ones would not close.

I was also working on Google Docs spreadsheets, on both cases. The second time for a short period, a couple of minutes. I didn't get any javascript error, everything seemed to work fine. After closing the spreadsheet tab, the rest wouldn't close.
I'm not able to reproduce on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20.0 Firefox/20.0 (20121125030729) and on Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0 (20121119183901) because following Alice's steps, clicking 3 times on middle button it opens only one popup and steps 10 and 11 can't be tested.
I'd also tried to reproduce this with lots of addons enabled (most popular addons top 10 and some tabs addons), with browser.allTabs.previews set true and false, closing tabs useing fast close addon and some other combinations but I couldn't reproduce this issue. But useing lots of addons enabled I could crash FF several time when restarting or opening it.

Here are some crash reports:

All of those crashes are related to flash and the bug which already covers that is bug 813205. Would be great if you can give STR over there.

Done. I added STR to bug 813205
Henrik, is there anything else I have to do here?
Well, lets aks Alice and the reporter if they still can see such a behavior.

Where is allTabs previews feature?
I cannot reproduce anyway.
I think it got removed by bug 670684. But for the original report most likely all tabs has not been used. We might want to close it as incomplete.
Can we remove QA Wanted or close this issue base on Comment 14?
Resolving INCOMPLETE due to lack of reproducible information.
