User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

When there is isufficient space to display close buttons on all tabs, only the close button on the currently active tab appears.

This feature has the annoying effect that it is impossible to close a tab with a single mouse click without activating it. (Using context menu is slow.)

It would be great if the current behaviour would be conserved, but that in addition a close button be shown if the mouse hovers over an inactive tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open lots of tabs
2. Close buttons on all tabs but the active tab disappear
3. hover over an inactive tab
Actual Results:
No closing button is displayed on an inactive tab even when the mouse hovers over it.

Expected Results:
Tab button should be displayed on inactive tabs if the mouse hovers over the tab.
It looks like the two bugs might indeed be related. If this is the case, I would suggest to re-evaluate the importance of fixing bug 350797:

It seems before FF 3.6 this was not an issue as close buttons were always displayed (to my recollection) but with FF 3.6 the UI is now missing features that were present in FF 3.5.
dupe of bug 404909, which is in itself probably a dupe of bug 443860 although that's also mentioning the left/right issue
