STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
 1. Load http://www.youtube.com/
 2. Ctrl-click a bunch of videos (say, four)
 3. Wait 30 seconds. (examining the tabs loading the videos, if you like)
 4. Close one of the tabs for one of the videos.

ACTUAL RESULTS:
 - During step 3, the tabs have light gray blocks where the videos should be. (It just seems to stay that way forever)
 - After step 4, Firefox hangs for ~10 seconds, and then all of the remaining tabs' gray blocks turn to the "plugin crashed" UI.

Sometimes step 4 isn't necessary -- the grey blocks just turn to "plugin crashed" on their own, with this message on std[in|err]:
   ###!!! [Parent][AsyncChannel] Error: Channel error: cannot send/recv
FWIW, I'm running
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.3a4pre) Gecko/20100323 Minefield/3.7a4pre
on Ubuntu 10.4 b1.
and I have "flashplugin-installer" ubuntu package version 10.0.45.2ubuntu1
No bug if I disable dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.

Looks like cjones had a number of OOPP-related changesets during that period -- not sure which one would be responsible.
I hit this on Ubuntu 9.10 with today's mozilla-central nightly, too. So, this isn't Ubuntu 10.04-specific.

I could easily believe that http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/7828c0055b2d caused this (it caused a similar problem on windows), but http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/a135d2f38e1c should have fixed it :S. No initial ideas.
(For clarity: both changesets from comment 6 are in the regression pushlog range. Just clarifying b/c I'd initially thought the 'should have fixed it' one might have gone into a later nightly -- but no, it's in the first broken nightly.)
I'm about 99% sure this is the same underlying problem as bug 554477. The trick is firing off a bajillion async messages. The STR ought to increase in reliability the more youtube videos are opened.
WFM in today's nightly. Duping to bug 554447 for now; cjones, feel free to redirect the dupe if appropriate.
