User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100227 Thunderbird/3.0.3 Certain messages which were successfully received and read and kept suddenly no longer appear in the Inbox window, and no longer appear in search results. They were not deleted. Nor do they appear in Trash. This happens after a successful search for the message. It has also happened with a message in a local folder. It doesn't always happen. I do not have automatic folder compression turned on. I can take a copy of the Inbox file and examine it with a text editor. The message in question is still there in the file. If I then run folder compression, the message is now gone from the Inbox file, but is not in trash either. If you wish, I can send you a copy of the Inbox file from before compression and a copy of the same file after compression, showing the message is there and then gone. My inbox contains considerable personal information and I would need your assurance of confidentiality. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Happens after a search, but only seldom. 2. 3.
Can you try to rebuild you inbox index ? What size is your inbox on disk ?
no response => incomplete not our preferred method of closing, but not much choice
