We haven't had VMPI_vsnprintf or plain vsnprintf reliably on all platforms so code that needed it has been hacked in various ways, and this has led to some confusion. We now have VMPI_vsnprintf on all platforms and need to use this.
Targeting for Flash 10.1 because cleaning this up blocks WinMo development and therefore impedes ARM testing.
