1. Go to http://people.mozilla.com/~bstover/test.xul. If you don't see "Cat", save this file to your computer and try again--for some reason the first option isn't selected if it's on the web?
2. Click the "Cat" text (which should look like a select widget, but it doesn't)
Expected:
Drop down menu shows
Actual:
Preferences gears button disappears!

I couldn't reproduce this on a Linux (desktop) trunk build. Are you still seeing this?

Build id : Mozilla/5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:8.0a1)Gecko/20110712
Firefox/8.0a1 Fennec/8.0a1
Device: Motorola Droid 2
OS: Android 2.2
Update button's text is half displayed when I repeat tapping on Enable / Disable button for an add-on which doesn't require restart or for a Personas theme.
Is this related to this issue?

This is a screenshot of bugzilla. Wrong screenshot?
We haven't seen the above problem in comment 1 for a while, so we can either close this and file a new one for your issue or repurpose this bug. Either is fine with me.

I'm still able to reproduce this issue on the latest nightly build. If you consider, I will post a comment about it on bug 668921.
