We need to edit the directions on this page once we've made the switch to WebTrends. There will be a period where we're using both Omniture and WebTrends. I'll update this bug with the specific edits once I know more.
Is there a bug on updating http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/third-party.html, too?
Liz, do you know whether a bug has been filed for Reed's comment?
I don't think so. It's on my to do list, but I don't think a bug was filed. Do you mind doing that?
sure, bug is filed: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=554815
I've asked WebTrends for their opt-out instructions. I'll update this bug when I hear back.
Created attachment 435938 [details] WebTrends Opt-out Procedure Please add the attached text to our Opt-out page.
r65095 updates on trunk. Added a section for Webtrends, and kept the Omniture content too. Liz and Blake, please review the page. Thanks
Thanks Alex. One typo - In the first point under Webtrends, "disables" should be "disable." Blake - I don't understand this stuff very well, but I wondered if having the instructions from Mozilla and then the instructions from Webtrends might be confusing.
Typo fixed in r65102
We've noted this change publicly -- http://blog.mozilla.com/metrics/2010/04/14/web-analytics-and-mozilla-websites/ -- so it'd be ideal to make the page changes in the next few days. Thanks!
Are we still using both Omniture and Webtrends or have we now switched completely to Webtrends?
We're in the process of rolling out the implementation of Webtrends. At the same time, we'll still have Omniture running on a few sites for a few more weeks (approximately).
Can I push this live?

I think it might be easier to understand the Webtrends instructions if the Webtrends opt out cookie info directly followed our cookie opt out instructions instead of putting it after the hosts files instructions. Blake, Ken - what do you think?
Makes sense to me, although I don't have a strong opinion here.
Can we push live now?
(In reply to comment #17) > Can we push live now? Yeah, I think we're good to go.
