Is Thunderbird keeping a database of received, sent, or drafted e-mail those files have grown very large and slow down defrag programs.

There are three files sent, received and drafts in question. They should be zero length files, they have quite a bit of information in them. Are they 
Keeping a database file about the e-mail that I received, sent, or drafted.  Those files should be zero length ( 0 ) and have nothing in them. The other problem is that when I run defrag it takes forever for those files to get done, it realy takes a long time. How do I fix the problem without crashing Thunderbird. If Thunderbird is databasing those files (WHY).



Reproducible: Always
Go into thunderbird, right click on your folders, and select compact.
...as in comment #1: occasionally make a compactation!
