Never seen this error before when compiling mozilla,
compiling freeamp gives the same error.

It sounds like you upgraded glibc between your mozilla builds.  If that's the
case, 'make clobber' before building again.

I indeed upgraded libc, but I'm still not sure if that was the problem.
In the mean time mozilla started building again, thanks for the hint and
marking bug 'WORKSFORME'.
