User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 Thunderbird/3.0.4

Last week or so, files stopped copying into my Sent folder. Actually, the header would go into Sent folder, but the body of the email would be blank, losing all attachments. Now, after latest upgrades, not even the email header is showing up in the Sent folder. When copying into as a test I get: "Alert! The folder Sent is full, and can't hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder." I deleted files and deleted files until I deleted them all from the Sent folder. I emptied the Trash so almost all except last month's sent messages are gone. Still can't move file into Sent folder and email copies don't show up. When I check my Library file, it says that Sent is 4.02 GB, even though it's empty. So I lost almost all of the copies of emails I have sent over past year.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send a file and have copy go to Sent folder
2. Copy a file into the Sent folder
3.

Local mail folder(POP3, "Local Folers")? Or IMAP folder?

(A) If local mail folder.

"Alert! The folder Sent is full" is correctly issued by Tb 3.0.4. (Bug 387502 is fixed by Tb 3.0b4 and Tb 2.0.0.24).
> Bug 387502 (tb-4gb) Mailboxes are allowed to grow larger than 4gb in size
Note: On Mac OS X, size limit is 2GB until Bug 462665 will be fixed.
> Bug 462665 Remove the 4GB local mailbox file size limit

When did the alert start to appear? After upgrade to one of Tb 3.0.x from Tb 2? Or after upgrade to Tb 3.0.4 from Tb 3.0.3/2/1?
If upgrade from Tb2, ad Tb2 was Tb2.0.23 or before, probably such large file was generated by problem of Bug 387502 during you used Tb2.

Recovery procedure.
(1) Keep backup of file named "Sent" and "Sent", for future analysis.
(2) Delete "Sent.msf", and create file named "Sent"(null data file).
(3) Restart Tb

(B) If IMAP folder.

Set "offline use=off" for the Sent folder(Folder Properties/Synchronization), and execute rebuild-index(Folder Properties/General). If file size of "Sent" exceeds limit, move many mails to other folder and keep file size small(smaller than 2GB file size limit), please.
Note: Bug 532323 will be fixed by Tb 3.1.0. i.e. not fixed by Tb 3.0.x.
> Bug 532323 4 GB limit of IMAP offline-store breaks sync of gmail "All Mail" and other systems(4GB limit is on Win, 2GB limit if Linux/Mac)
Summary: Sent Folder will not accept sent mail or file moved into. Message: The folder sent is full... → Sent Folder will not accept sent mail or file moved into. Message: The folder sent is full... (file size of Sent is 4.02 GB, which is far larger than current file size limit of 2GB on Mac OS X)
Whiteboard: dupme
If local Sent folder, it was found that bug 598104 occurs even on Tb 3.0/3.1.
