Steps to Reproduce #1: 1. Download the app catalog from mozilla.com/m 2. Install Mobile Firefox 1.0.0 3. Go to http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/candidates/1.0.1rc1-candidates/repos/ and download and install the 1.9.2_multi catalog 4. Check for software updates Actual Results: In the app manager, I receive the following message: "fennec is already installed". Steps to Reproduce #2: 1. Go to the Ovi Store 2. Install Mobile Firefox 1.0.0 3. Go to http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/candidates/1.0.1rc1-candidates/repos/ and download and install the 1.9.2_multi catalog 4. Check for software updates Actual Results: I see no available updates in the app manager. Note: After download and installing Mobile Firefox 1.0.0, I downloaded the 1.0.1 debs from the 1.9.2_multi folder. The installation of those debs was successful.
Pretty sure this is invalid. If you install Fennec from repo A, I believe your updates have to come from repo A. Trying to install a newer version from repo B will fail out. Uninstall Fennec and install fresh from the new repo. We can test the update path when we push the candidates to releases/latest (by first installing 1.0.0 from releases/latest/... and then updating once 1.0.1 is in releases/latest)
