This happens when a description runs longer than the item-info block and the text wraps under the float, which is even more likely to happen in such a narrow column. A padding-right on the description fixes it (and padding-left in RTL). 

Fixed in r65327.

We should make one (or both) of those lines display:block.

Oh I see the problem. They should be paragraphs, not spans. See http://mozilla.focalcurve.com/zamboni/searchresults.php for example.

If there's some reason they have to be spans then display:block would do it instead (just makes a span render like a paragraph, but lacks the semantics).
