If you move the collab plugin out of the plugins/labs directory to somewhere that is not in the plugin path, things generally still work. However, there is no polling that happens if you run a vcs command, so you never get a response.
Fixed in the upcoming patch. Will mark as resolved as it is integrated in the bespinclient proper, and tested.
