556899 - New window not opening and fire fox still on behind scene.

Build Identifier: Fire fox 3.6.3

When fire fox is open I am unable to open new window from FILE or from Start program.
When I exit Firefox I cannot restart firefox until l  reboot PC.
If trying to install update now, Even Fire fox is exited, I get message you must close firefox first.
Looking at task manager firefox is not running


Reproducible: Always

Please retest in safe-mode / with a new profile:

Also a clean Firefox re-installation could help.

I have also seen this behaviour when I upgraded from 3.6.2 to 3.6.3.

Once you have requested a new window, the Firefox process lurks
in the background after you close the application. You'll need to kill the process before being able to re-start the application (no need to reboot the computer)

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

You can also try to reproduce in Firefox 4 Beta 8 or later, there are many improvements in the new version, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
