User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) After having opened a new page, the keyboard shortcut for opening a new tab, Ctrl+T, sometimes doesn't work. I've noticed that this only happens after having started a new browsing session (opened a new window). If it works from the beginning, then it doesn't just stop working. This doesn't always happen, maybe about half of the times I open a new window. If I click the "Open a new tab" button, that sometimes fixes it, so I can use Ctrl+T to open more tabs, but sometimes it doesn't fix it. Usually, the only sure way to fix it is to close the window and open a new one. I only started noticing this behavior in Firefox 3.6 and it still happens in 3.6.3. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox 3.6.x 2.Hold Ctrl+T Actual Results: Nothing happened, a new tab was not opened. Expected Results: A new tab should always open. I have a few common add-ons installed, like Firebug, Web developer, Screngrab, etc. I use personas. My options for tabs (Tools > Options > Tabs) are: first 3 checked, last two unchecked.
If you're finding (at the time Ctrl+T doesn't work) that your current page has Flash, Java, or other plugins that have stolen the keyboard focus, please dupe this to bug 78414
(In reply to comment #1) No, that is not the case, it has even happened with a blank tab. As far as I have noticed, it doesn't seem to be related to the content of the current page.

Does this also happen in safe-mode / with a new profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile
I think I have found a pattern: this happens when a window with only one tab is minimized using RocketDock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocketdock). It also happens in safe mode (I haven't tried it with a new profile). If RocketDock is turned off and the window is minimized to the taskbar, this bug does not occur.
Summary: New tab keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+T) sometimes doesn't work → New tab keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+T) doesn't work when window has been minimized to RockeDock
Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open RocketDock 2.Open Firefox 3.6.x 3.Minimize and maximize the Firefox window to RocketDock 4.Hold Ctrl+T (nothing happens) <<BUG 5.Go to File > New Tab (new tab opens) 6.Close the new tab and start over from step 3.
Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open RocketDock 2.Open Firefox 3.6.x 3.Minimize and maximize the Firefox window to RocketDock 4.Try to use any keyboard shortcut (e.g. Ctrl+T, Ctrl+D, Ctrl+W, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+R)(nothing happens) (note: Ctrl+V works) Expected Results: Keyboard shortcuts should work.
Summary: New tab keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+T) doesn't work when window has been minimized to RockeDock → Keyboard shortcuts don't work when window has been minimized to RockeDock
Summary: Keyboard shortcuts don't work when window has been minimized to RockeDock → Keyboard shortcuts don't work when window has been minimized to RocketDock
Also, I just notice that writing in text areas is also affected. If the window is minimized and maximized to RocketDock, I can't type anything in textareas until I manually open a new tab. Also, refreshing with F5 doesn't work either. Should I file a new bug with all these updates?
Is there any change this will be fixed or is it against policy to fix it if another application is involved? Thanks!
