User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; nl; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; nl; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Ever since I updated my Firefox to version 3.6 it often jams when starting. This only happens when I have the function to restore tabs on. (The ones that were open when you last closed FF) On starting, Firefox will open, show the tabs that were open, and then jam. The only solution then is to close Firefox trough task manager and restart it. On restarting, it will jam AGAIN, and you will have to go to task manager again to close it. On the second restart it will show the page that FF couldn't restore the tabs and ask you if you want it to try to restore them anyway. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open one or more tabs 2. Close Firefox 3. Restart Firefox Actual Results: Firefox starts, opens the tabs that were open when it was last closed, and the jams. Expected Results: Not jamming would be nice. The only thing that was changed was updating my Firefox from 3.5 to 3.6. After that, this bug started occurring. Reverting to 3.5 would fix the problem, but going backwards isn't really an option either, is it?

Does this also happen in safe-mode / with a new profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile

Does this happen with whatever session you restore or does it only happen when certain pages are in the session being restored? If you leave the browser alone for a minute or so, does it eventually recover?

Also try http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+hangs?bl=n&s=restore%20tabs&as=q#Duplicate_Session_Restore_files if you have multiple session store files, that may be causing issues no response to initial information requests

I don't have multiple session store files, so that isn't the issue. And yes, it happens with whatever session I try to restore, regardless of what page is open. Even if I just open a blank page and restart it jams. Tried to let it do it's thing and after a few minutes it did eventually unjam.

If this still happens, why did you mark FIXED?

(In reply to comment #6) > Cause I obviously don't have a clue how all this works ;P Just let us take care of all that then. You just help us figure out what's wrong :) If this happens even for just a blank page, then this doesn't sound like an issue directly related to session restore. It might be related to an extension. Please try safe mode and/or a new profile (as mentioned in comment #1). Safe mode will disable extensions so we can see if the problem persists with no extensions. I'm also curious if this happens if you don't restore your session, but instead start Firefox with a new session.
blubmoh, can you please try the things asked by Paul? If you can reproduce this on a more recent version, please comment your feedback.
