There is somewhere a wrong path.
Ludovic: Is there a default location for files in TB similar to FF ?
This can be fixed either with the UI or with the 2-3 download locations in about:config)

Yes theres is in Tb -> Preferences -> Attachments.
Wayne could you try to repair your permissions as described at http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1452 ?
When you try to save a file do you see anything in Tools -> Error console ?
Same applies to /Applications/utilities/console.app ?
Sorry to waste your time. My error. Before updating to OSX 10.6.3, I thought I locked (via "get info") two Turbotax tax returns. I discovered after I wrote you that I had locked one tax return but locked the "desktop" instead of the other tax return. I was in error for stating I could not download anywhere.
I just could not download, add or remove anything from the desktop.
I feel bad and embarrassed that I reported a non problem to you guys.
I like Firefox over Safari and Thunderbird is great too.
Again, my apology. I promise it won't happen again(I hope).
Keep up the good work!
