On every bookmark insert/delete/move, existing bookmark items might need to get reordered, and if there are thousands of bookmarks in the same folder, this could take a long time. This is somewhat alleviated by splitting the folder into smaller folders, but that requires extra effort on the user. Alternatively, users could just keep the bookmarks in the unfiled/unsorted folder and Weave won't bother reordering.
Is this true for core as well? i.e. if I drag a bookmark into a very large folder, does the app hang then?

OK. I do not have thousands of bookmarks in every folder, but I do have hundreds of bookmarks across several folders (I am not currently using the Unsorted Bookmarks). I have not seen any unreasonable amount of latency using FX4, FX5, FX6, and now FX7. I highly recommend upgrading to Fx7, then file a new bug if the problem continues...
