+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #442222 +++

Ludo has graciously agreed to work up the patch(s). I would expect a couple iterations are needed to bring in the new people who helped since 3.0 was released, as we did for the v2.0 to v3.0 time period.

As with Bug #442222, send me recommendations if you have a question about the person's suitability to be included.
