We're splitting off a dev branch for QA to test against so that we can happily continue our good work on master.  Bug fixes will be ported to both branches, but new features will only go into master.

Once 5.9 is released, we'll be switching preview back to master.

Bug 557899 is the long-term fix for this bug, and this one can be wontfixed if we can have next.amo really soon.  Getting something stable for qa is important, and this bug is the easy way.
I think I did this right:

git checkout -b next origin/next

and to update:

git pull origin next
