steps to reproduce:
1.Advanced search->per page.Choose "5"
2.Search for fire.Notice the only 5 results are listed per page
3.Search for firefox

expected result:
User selection persists and only 5 results are listed for all the searches.

actual result:
per page selection is reset to 20.
I bet that's going to happen automatically in [z]!

Is their a cookie for storing user preferences like these (num pages, etc)?
No, it should just carry over from the query string.  Putting that in a cookie would be a separate (low-priority) bug.
