I just moved out from a Mac to a wintel platform, and out of force of habit i press Ctrl+W. However, in Thunderbird- the window closes, but if i click on it - i get the following error message. "thunderbird is still running, please quit the program or restart windows". Now comes the bug - If I kill the application using task manager, and restart thunderbird, it will close with Ctrl+W and reopen if you click on the icon. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.In an open window - press Ctrl+W 2.Click on thunderbird 3.error is displayed. 4. Go to task manager 5. Search for thunderbird.exe - and force quit 5. Now when you use Ctrl+W it works fine.
I don't see this issue. Have you tried safe mode? (see https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode for more information)
Madan, please, could answer to comment #1?

Sorry. no. It does not come in safe mode. I formatted and reinstalled W7 and now it seems to be working fine and I cnanot recreate the problem. Guess I need to close this ticket.
