reproducible:sometimes

steps to reproduce:
1.Go to http://mcc.stage.mozilla.com/designs/285/edit
2.Re-crop the thumbnail view
3.Save the changes
4.Go to the gallery and notice whether the thumbnail view has changed.

observed behavior
Edits to the thumbnail view of the design is not saved

Lots of minor errors combined to create 1 big error.  This is looking much better in my sandbox.
