This would be ok if I had my window manager set to accept focus based on the
mouse pointer, but I am set to click-to focus. So, if the mouse moves out of
the mozilla window, all typing ceases to work. Mostly just an annoying buy
since this is not something Mozilla should decide but rather leave it to the
window manager

I hope this is not a duplicate. I looked, but this is my first mozilla bug
entry. :)

Bill
I am also seeing this lately and it's really annoying!

Is this linux only? More focus bugs. Yay!
I don't see this problem on my Mac mozilla debug build from this morning. I'd
guess it's Linux-specific. Who is the proper owner for this bug?
Probably me.

I do use pointer focus, so I wouldn't see this bug, but I do see something that
might be releated: keyboard accelerators often don't work at all in the mail
3-pane window if the mouse isn't over the thread or message panes. It shouldn't
make any difference to the focus system what part of the window the mouse is
over, as long as it's over some part of it.
Doesn't look like a stop ship bug. Marking rtm-.

removing rtm- and pleading for this to be fixed for rtm.
It's nearly impossible to use the Linux version as dogfood since I'm constantly
having to move the mouse around. For example, if a dialog comes up, I have to
move the mouse to that window before I can press Enter or Escape to dismiss it.

Added keywords for regression (since this was working correctly not too long ago)
and dogfood (since it affects my ability to use the Linux version). Other
keywords should be obvious. :)

Wait, are you seeing this on the netscape branch or the tip
I only see this problem on the Netscape branch. It works fine on the trunk.
reassign to pavlov; he has a workaround for this bug (which is already checked
into the trunk)

I just tried the nightly build for 10/10 and the events are now working
correctly. Typing continues even when outside of the mozilla window.

Does the person who originated the ticket resolve it?
Sorry; this is not fixed for me on my Linux Netscape6 branch build from this
morning.

Pav--any update/status on when you might be able to land that patch on the branch?
rtm+ need info, please attach patch, get reviews, and rtm+ for PDT consideration.
