Mail server pop.earthlink.net responded: bad password or unknown username" - Earthlink tier 2 technician verified settling and password Reproducible: Always Expected Results: connected to mail server

So what do you have in Tools -> Account Settings -> Earthlink account in : 1) server name 2) User name Did this configuration worked before ? Are you able to read your email using earthlink's webmail ?

The problem was my user name had to be set to my full email address and the server name set to pop.mindspring.com because this is the extension of my email address
Status: UNCONFIRMED → RESOLVED

=> INVA, because the problem wasn't fixed by changing Thunderbird. (Nitpicking, yes ;))
