User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100413 Firefox/3.6.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100413 Firefox/3.6.4 i browse the web by typing in the name of a website in the address bar and hitting enter... its faster and simpler that way and 98% accurate, no need for www and .com (at&t dns servers make this process work better) (i should note, this happens at a random time with any website i go to) anyways, my hitting enter is causing a rather strange issue, and i've been submitting the automated crash report since FF 3.6.2 and its still happening... the newest development is when i created a bookmark and i re-named it and i hit enter to save it... firefox promptly crashed Firefox is running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on a Macbook pro- model-- 3,1 I should note, running firefox 3.6.3 on OS X 10.5.8 (it will not crash) In testing with Firefox Lorentz 3.6.4, it crashes the same way as Firefox 3.6.4 and this is only on the Snow Leopard o/s... Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. browse the web on your Mac running snow leopard 2. sometimes it helps trigger the bug faster is to watch flash based video content- hulu, megavideo, youtube, etc. 3. type in the name of any website and then hit enter 4. watch firefox freeze up and see the beachball/mac spinner for about 5 seconds and then it will crash (if you're on a macbook pro or a quiet room, you'll hear the hard drive chatter as the beachball spins) 5. see the automated bug report pop up 6. restart firefox Actual Results: sometimes i can browse just fine without a crash sometimes firefox will crash after following those steps it is not consistent other than the hitting of the enter/return key Expected Results: firefox navigating to the website i entered Firefox configuration (about:config) things modified outside of default browser.urlbar.maxRichResults = -1 network.http.pipelining = true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 16 network.http.pipelining.ssl = true geo.enabled = false firefox set prefs- privacy/security remember passwords (no master password) browsing history not remembered downloads remembered accept cookies & 3rd party ones add-ons- (latest version) adblock plus WOT theme Firefox 3.5 B by Duffman plugins- (its a screenshot) http://yfrog.com/jkscreenshot20100418at102p

currently running flash player 10.1 rc, will roll back to 10.0 r45 for testing
philippe has been seeing this crash (or something very similar) in 1.9.2-based Camino builds with Flash 10.1rc and 10.6.3. He noted that it's very similar to bug 532085 seen in earlier Flash 10.1 betas.

i had no clue where to look for the crash identifer, but now i know, so is this just an adobe bug or a firefox bug as well? will test FF Lorentz and FF 3.6.3 for crashes with the 10.0 r45 version of flash
This is a flash bug
Could you try out our latest RC build which we just released today? http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
sure, why not, i'll be the guinea pig ;-) will update (when/if) it crashes
So, after a couple of hours having Flash 10.1rc2 installed, I haven't been able to reproduce this crash anymore. The steps that lead to a crash on my side: 1. watch an embeded flash movie. 2. go visit some other pages/sites/... 3. **click** in location bar or search bar -- mouse action is important, I think; using the keyboard shortcut to focus those fields didn't cause crashes. 3a. start editing 4. spinning beach ball and crash It is important that some time elapses between step 2 and 3 - in my case, the most recent crash happened a good half an hour after watching a flash movie. (and I have FlashBlock enabled. I rarely see any flash content unless I want to) -- If it is confirmed that 10.1 rc2 fixes the issue, this bug can be closed as wfm, I think. Or duped to bug 532085, as the stacks are very similar, afaict, and the STR are the same as what I experienced with the early betas of flash 10.1.
phillippe: could you please indicate the version you have now? http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ should list it. Charles: please feel free to choose between RESOLVED 'FIXED' and 'WORKSFORME'. I think FIXED is probably better because it sounds like you had an idea that the newer version 'fixed' the crash.
