The notificationbox content is not selectable and can not be copy-pasted. Tested both on a Firefox 3.6.3 for Linux and a Firefox 3.6.3 for Windows.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create yourself a new profile (for example on Linux by executing "firefox -no-remote -ProfileManager")
2. A notification message will be displayed in a notificationbox, just below the tabbar, and it will read something like "Mozilla Firefox is a Free Open
Source software from the Mozilla Foundation"
3. Try to select and copy-paste the text from the notificaitonbox
It is impossible to select and copy-paste the notifcationbox text.
Copy-pasting the text content of the notificationbox should be possible.
Copy-pasting the text content of the notificationbox is desirable so that people can report info and warning messages to other people, for example to copy-paste important notifications into an email or a web forum to get help and support.
It is also to be noted that the notificationbox is also available for XUL extensions https://developer.mozilla.org/en/XUL/notificationbox and that the users of those extensions using the notificationbox can't copy-paste the notifications of the extensions, making it hard for them to get help and support regarding thoses notifications.
I confirm that the impossibility to copy-paste the notificationbox content is still present in Firefox 4.0.
I'm still interested in the resolution of this ticket and available should you need help testing.
