User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Build Identifier: Eudora 8.0b9 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100301 Eudora/3.0.1 I installed Eudora on a brand new install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 after using it on XP for years (old PC finally died), I migrated the mailbox (another chore) finally got that working properly, checked my email, everything was fine, closed Eudora, installed ESET Smart Security 4.2.40 x64 version, everything went smooth, got up this morning and turned on the PC, opened Eudora and it immediately crashed, after some thought, I realized it may be the 32bit version of Eudora, using the MAPI, and the 64bit ant-virus, since every time i open Eudora, I get the "system integration" window, and if I leave the use as default email client checked, the eset toolbar pops up, if I uncheck it, the toolbar doesn't show up. either way the only way to reliably run Eudora is to disable realtime scanning of email in ESET, then Eudora seems to run fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.enable ESET email scanning autostart 2.open Eudora 3.watch it crash Actual Results: no special steps needed, happens every time. Expected Results: crash enabled the ESET butons, created a spam folder, and an infected folder

Also noticed I can't move the ESET tool bar inside Eudora, like I can in Outlook, it seems to be locked in place.
I'm running Win 7 32bit and just set up Eudora and ESET Smart Security is the add-on that is causing Eudora to crash for me also. So I have turned off the integration (disabled Email client protection) and all seems to be working ok now!!! Now the fun bit....transferring the old mail folders over!!
Have you found that a newer version of Eset solved the problem? The fault should be with that AV software, not thunderbird or Eudora.
