An error occurred sending mail: Unable to authenticate to SMTP server smtp.comcast.net. The server does not support any compatible secure authentication mechanism but you have chosen secure authentication. Try switching off secure authentication or contact your service provider Reproducible: Always Actual Results: FAIL! Expected Results: e-mail sent It worked yesterday.
And did you try to switch off the secure authentication in the outgoing server configuration ?
Arg. I had secure authentication off, but not in the outgoing server tab. Having the same thing in multiple places can be confusing. And, I need to contact my ISP. The arsehats have disabled secure authentication.

You usually have 2 places, the incoming mail server setup (pop3/imap) and the outgoing (smtp) one.
I have multiple inboxes. I've had this problem before, but always with incoming. This stupidity with an outbox is asinine. I've file a bug report with my ISP, punctuated with "you ****". My ISP is comcast, who generally I don't have a lot of problems with. My only other choice is Verizon, and I had to file a civil complaint against them (and won), I'm not interested doing business with them.
