User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I use search a LOT. This new upgrade of Firefox can't find MOST things on a page, in email, etc. This is BAD. I'm going to have to use Explorer - and I HATE doing that! Anyone going to fix this? (This form is extremely frustrating. I do not have a clue what the "hardware platform" is. PLEASE make this form usable for normal people.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to ANY website or open ANY email. 2. Try to search for anything in the page. Actual Results: It does not find words I can SEE. Expected Results: I expect it to find what I can see for myself.

Please add a simple example (URL + searchterm). DO you already tried http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ?
Thank you! Using safe mode doesn't help - but I JUST NOW realized what the problem is. You have to capitalize the letters as they are on the web page. What the heck? I never had to do that before these last two versions. THAT is the problem. Any website I go to presents this problem - and searching names or subject lines of emails in my inbox presents the same difficulty. I'm online all the time - I teach online. This is a huge nuisance for me. I don't suppose there's a fix on the way?... I'm assuming you don't need a screenshot? I apologize - I don't know how to put one in here. But if you were to go to any website (I just tried it at www.livescience.com) and search for a word you see on the screen, if you don't capitalize as it is on the page, Firefox won't find it. I guess a capital letter is a different character from a small letter to Mozilla... It's so much of a nuisance I'm using Windows Explorer which I DO NOT like using. Thank you SO MUCH for your time! I don't suppose this is a bug they are working on?...

I want to be sure you are notified there is a reply here. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for your assistance.

>I'm assuming you don't need a screenshot? No, steps to reproduce are something like this: 1) load http://example.com 2) press ctrl+f and enter "most" as search term in the bottom search bar 3) "Most" isn't found but "most" is I can't reproduce your issue with FF3.6.4(beta) with the website http://www.livescience.com and "most" as search Term. Do you noticed that there is a checkbox at the searchbar ? I don't know the english description of this checkbox because I have only a german FF. Enabling it and firefox will search case sensitive and without enabled checkbox FF should search case insensitive >I don't suppose there's a fix on the way?... Note: This is not a support database. We try to find real bugs and if such a bug can be reproduced it will be confirmed and such a bug will be fixed someday (based on the importance).
BWA HA HA HA!! I didn't notice that! Oh, I AM stupid!!! Dummkopf! (Or as we said in high school, Scheißekopf. Oh, mein! Deutsch! Ich hatte KEINE Idee - wow! Danke, danke, DANKE!!!! Auf Wiedersehen! :-D (In reply to comment #4) > >I'm assuming you don't need a screenshot? > No, steps to reproduce are something like this: > 1) load http://example.com > 2) press ctrl+f and enter "most" as search term in the bottom search bar > 3) "Most" isn't found but "most" is > > I can't reproduce your issue with FF3.6.4(beta) with the website > http://www.livescience.com and "most" as search Term. > > Do you noticed that there is a checkbox at the searchbar ? > I don't know the english description of this checkbox because I have only a > german FF. > Enabling it and firefox will search case sensitive and without enabled checkbox > FF should search case insensitive > > >I don't suppose there's a fix on the way?... > Note: This is not a support database.
