Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) When I drag and drop a large (~500 MB) file the FileReader throws an error (code 24), smaller files (~100MB) sometimes throw the exception and even smaller files (~30 MB) works every time. Same problem with both readAsDataURL() and readAsBinaryString() method on FileReader. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Modified version (to reflect latest API changes) of https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Using_files_from_web_applications 2. Drag & Drop a large (~500 MB) file 3. Error is thrown Actual Results: Error thrown Expected Results: Read the file content into memory ... var file = files[i]; var reader = new FileReader(); reader.onerror = function (e) {alert("Error: " + e.target.error.code);}; reader.onload = function() { alert("Finished"); }; reader.readAsBinaryString(file);
Thanks for the report. This seems the same as bug 565039, though.
