Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the File menu with the mouse or by pressing Alt+F. 2. Press the D key on the keyboard. Actual Results: The program closes, just as if "Exit" is selected from the File menu. Expected Results: Nothing. Tried Firefox in safemode with all plugins disabled, yet this behaviour persists.
D selects Close Window.
I see, but there's Ctrl+Shift+W specified as the shortcut for "Close Window" in the "File" menu. Why a redundant shortcut? My problem is that I work with another application which uses the shortcut Alt+F,D and I, sometimes, use this shortcut in FF by mistake..
It's not a shortcut. Hold alt and press the key corresponding to the menu with that letter underlined to open it. Press the key corresponding to the item with that letter underlined to do it. This is how it's been since DOS. This is commonly called an access key. Shortcuts are another matter.

Dave, Thanks for clearing the confusion. And I'm sorry my first bug report was invalid, and caused the humanity to waste some precious time. I've been using the computer since '86 -- I must have been blind and didn't see the underlined D in the "Close Window" command... :$
There's bugs like this filed all the time and it's not too much of a hassle in the grand scheme of things. Don't worry about it. If you really want to waste time you've got to at least be undecipherable and cryptic in your report. ;)
