To reproduce:
1> Highlight text in editbox with mouse
2> hit backspace
3> sit in wonder at why text did not dissapear

Replace step 2 with any of {delete, ctrl-x, ctrl-c, ctrl-v, any other edit key}

Using the keyboard to highlight, then backspace/delete to clear works

Mozilla Custom Build 2000100921 with source no more than 2 days old at compile
time.
