Hey Steven. As discussed last week, we'd like to create a new mozilla.com page for the Firefox Sync (formerly known as Weave) add-on. Similar to the Account Manager page you did recently, it won't be part of the main nav at first, but will most likely get added to the upcoming section of Fx4 beta pages.

Copy will be coming soon. Visually, it should be modeled on mobile's sync page (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/sync/). We'll supply a new hero image as well.

This page is setup in trunk in r66785. For now, it still has the mobile sync page feature image. I used the existing Weave Sync add-on link - is that correct?

The page is ready except for the main feature image (which I'm waiting on). Should I just be using the Sync logo attached here on its own or is a more elaborate image coming?

Hey, 

So there are a few changes that need to be made to the current draft:

* Change "Access your history, bookmarks and even open tabs across all your devices." to:
"Access your history, passwords, bookmarks and even open tabs across all your devices."

* Move "Learn about Firefox Sync on your phone" to the bottom of the box under Security.

* Add a link to Frequently Asked Questions after the install steps. (See attached copy for details)

* Installation step 2 is incorrect. Replace with the text in attached copy.

* Add a Download Firefox 3.6 button after the FAQ link.

* Replace the logo with the image attached.

I don't know where to link this (see comment #9).

Should the entire feature image be replaced with the plain sync logo, or should the existing image be used (phone, lightning, etc.) but with the weave-logo replaced with the circular sync logo?

I was under the impression that a completed header image would be provided. It's fine if it's not, but I'll need to know that.

I believe Caitlin (Mobile PMM) is updating this, she has seen the FIrefox Sync page and is going to update the mobile sync page as needed.

I am going to file a bug  that contains the links to all pages on mozilla.com that  either use the old logo or make metion of Weave Sync and add  that bug as a dependency to this bug.

They don't go anywhere yet. The first two articles haven't been drafted yet and the other two need to be renamed and have references to Weave removed.

Steven - the original copy has a link pointing to Frequently Asked Questions. That link should point to the "What is Firefox Sync" article. 

David Tenser is going to update the bug with the URL that doesn't have the locale information in it. I suspect it will be something along the lines of https://support.mozilla.com/kb/What+is+Firefox+Sync , but I'll let David confirm.

Ragavan, that's exactly right. :) To clarify, this is the only article that will be directly linked to from the Sync page. The reason why we don't want the "en-US/" part is because we want to allow localized versions.

Just fyi, the other 3 articles mentioned in comment 20 will be linked to from that main "What is Firefox Sync?" article and their exact names might change slightly. Ragavan will review all content before this goes live next week.

What will be the exact copy for the link on http://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/sync/?

One more tweak:
Can we change the link in: "Install the free Firefox Sync Add-on". to point to:
"https://addons.mozilla.org/services/install.php?addon_id=firefox_sync" ? That link doesn't exist yet, but will work when we release 1.3.

ETA for release of 1.3 client is Wednesday (May 26).

There are two links to the add-on on the page ("Get the Free Firefox Sync Add-on Now" in the main feature area, and "Install the free Firefox Sync Add-on" in the sidebar). Should both of these links be updated?

We decided not to update the links due to bug# 567699.
