1. goto http://people.mozilla.com/~prouget/demos/mashup/video.xhtml
2. click play
3. allow to play 15 seconds
4. click on somewhere 20 sec of video

5. click on somewhere 10 sec of video
   (which was already played)
   - user see throbber again
Changed title to describe the problem rather than speculate on the cause. Discussion in 563574 about the cause was speculating. It could be other reasons other than the buffering logic.
Summary: Bug in 'we need to buffer' detection code, seeing throbber while seeking → Throbber appears when seeking in cached portion of media
This bug makes my tool much harder to use. The user is expected to seek in the video stream to find an area of interest while the corresponding area is matched in the timeline above.

I can't reproduce this bug on Chrome.

This bug is 2 years old. Are there any plans to fix this?
Component: Audio/Video → Audio/Video: Playback
It must be really old by now. Is it still a bug?
Severity: normal → S3
