I can get to chase.com, but when I enter my ID and password, it locks up and is unresponsive. I have tried uninstalling Firefox 3.6.3 & reloading it...but this problem persists. I have no problem accessing my Chase banking information using Inernet Explorer. I'm not the only one reporting this. If you check your forums using "chase.com" in the search criteria, you will find others. So far, I have seen no good solutions offered. For now, I will continue to use Internet Explorer when I need to access my Chase banking information. If you have any additional questions, you may call or e-mail me. Best Regards, Thomas M. Weber Saginaw, MI e-mail: tmweber1948@hotmail.com Tel: 989-607-0255 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Mozilla Firefox 2.Type Chase.com in browser window 3.Enter a valid user ID and password Actual Results: Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 locks up. Task manager shows it as "unresponsive". Expected Results: When working properly, this opens my personal banking information. You will have to create an account with Chase in order to research this. Anyone with a valid Chase credit card can do this. I'm assuming that someone on the Bugzilla team has a Chase Bank credit or debit card...or a Chase bank checking or savings account. This browser worked before the upgrade to 3.6.3, so I'm assuming there is a bug in the newest version of Firefox.
Thomas, did safe mode work? If not, does installing the version you used prior to 3.6.3 work? xref Bug 509521
Wednesday May 26, 2010 11:48 am Wayne - Please go to the following Mozilla site: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/658494#threadId682099 These is a forum that has been around for a while, and I am participating. Yes, safe mode works. The problem turns out to be a conflict between the Norton Safe Search toolbar and Mozilla 3.6.3. Prior versions of Mozilla Firefox did NOT have this problem. However, Symantec had issued a "hotfix" to resolve a similar problem with Firefox 3.5.x. I chatted with a tech from Symantec, and he indicated that they would work on another hotfix. As for me, I have two workarounds....I can use IE6 or I can temporarily disable the Norton toolbar in my Mozilla 3.6.3 browser. All of us are waiting for some kind of resolution to this problem for either Mozilla or Symantec. Obla di obla da....life goes on. Thomas M. Weber Saginaw, MI
In that case I will mark this bug invalid. The author of the addon looks at the issue. He can either fix a bug on his side or he can create a bug here if he finds a bug in Firefox that is causing his addon to not work. Only the author can provide all needed information that the Mozilla developers need (which code doesn't work). I hope that Symantec can resolve the issue fast !

Wednesday May 26, 2010 1:20 pm EDT Matthias - Just my 2 cents here. I think that Mozilla should use their influence to build a fire under someone's butt at Symantec. Otherwise, the fix will probably not come quickly....or never come. So my response to your final statement in your previous post....My father always told me "You can wish (hope) in one hand and s**t in the other....See which hand gets full first! This issue is anything BUT invalid...and it certainly is NOT resolved. Mozilla aspires to be the BEST...the number ONE browser in the world. They certainly won't get there by giving responses like the one you just posted. If you go to the forum, you'll see that one of the posts says "Switching to Chrome". Please, please please... pass this information up the chain of command at Mozilla. Regards, Thomas M. Weber Saginaw, MI
You seem to forget something. Bugzilla is a tool for the developers and nothing more. It's not a Forum and it's not for discussions about making fire under someones butt. You post a report about a bug in the Mozilla source code here, i will triage the bug report (requesting additional information, filter support requests and addon issues) and finally a developer tries to find the place in the Mozilla source code and write a patch to fix the bug. This bug is resolved for the developers unless we get more information from the Norton developers that this looks like a bug on our side. Note: I'm just a user like you.I help here to make the product better and I don't speak for Mozilla.org and I'm not paid to help here. My own personal experience is that all this toolbars from Norton, AVG, Google, Yahoo or whatever are just crap and you will always get problems with them.
Wednesday May 26, 2010 3:04 pm EDT I'm OK with whatever you decide to do. But, I'm just telling you that there are a bunch of unhappy campers that are using Norton software. I'm assuming that you have a better pipeline to Mozilla than I do. If you want to give me an e-mail to contact Mozilla directly, I would be happy to do so. It kind of sounds like you want nothing more to do with this....and I can't say as I blame you. Peace. Regards, Thomas M. Weber Saginaw, MI
