User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; fr; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100503 Firefox/3.6.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; fr-FR; rv:1.9.2.5pre) Gecko/20100430 Thunderbird/3.1b2 Opening a new compose window, I cannot insert accentuated or special characters while until the format is changed, IF I type some text in the subject field. Everything is OK once options→Format→"anything but text only" is selected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a new compose window 2.Type in a subject 3.Try to type a text with é ç using the keyboard (paste seems to work) Those character just don't appear. 4.Selection the menu "options→format→(anything by text only)" 5.Accents now work in text.
Seems to be a duplicate of bug 512680
Sorry, Seems to be a duplicate of bug 541042 (not 512680) Could you confirm it?
yes indeed. Meanwhile I also discovered actually that this behaviour only happens using reply to a message, i.e. when one doesn't pass by the "subject" or address fields. Clicking in one of those (even without typing) revert back to normal...
