When I copy something eg, a URL from within Firefox and then paste into eg, Dreamweaver, nothing happens.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy the text
2. Try to paste into another app. for example, Dreamweaver
3. Paste into a plain text editor
4. Copy the pasted text
5. Then paste into Dreamweaver or whatever app I'm using.
Actual Results:
nothing

Expected Results:
text pasted

I have observed that Cmd-C does not work when copying from a web page, but works OK for content in text fields. This might lead to the perception of the clipboard working "intermittently". The Edit menu always works.

Reproduced this with: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20110105 Firefox/4.0b9pre

Updated the summary to reflect the reproduced case:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select read-only text in a web page (not a text field or text area).
2. Press Cmd-C to copy the text.
3. Try to paste anywhere you could normally paste text (e.g., text editor).

Expected result:
Copied text is pasted.

Actual results:
Previous content of clipboard is pasted.

Workaround:
Copy using the Edit menu (tedious and low a11y).
