Win 7 provides new features. Thunderbird could use some of them:

- Jump Lists: TB can offer 'Open new Mail', 'Open Address book', 'Go to <account>' etc,
- Show the New Mail Icon in Taskbrbutton like Opera <http://my.opera.com/portalnews/blog/2010/03/27/take-full-advantage-of-windows-7-with-opera>
- Show progress of Downloads, Synchronization etc. in Toolbarbutton
- Use Transparency for the GUI (I'm not a fan of this, but everybody wants this)
