davedash: how far away from search suggestions are we? Is this something we could do? And does it have a different bug already?

Summary: "stock zoom" is not prominently displayed → Search suggestions when the query doesn't return results
There is a bug for autocomplete, but not search suggestions a la "Did you mean?" Comment 0 is confusing to read, I take it on your retitling of the bug you understood what was happening? I'm not sure what is meant by "Stock Zoom" is prominently displayed.
This bug is raised as per the following test case where the word prominently is not well defined. Testcase ID #4844 - Search - filtered results [Matching Testcases - product: AMO (addons.mozilla.org) | testgroup: addons.mozilla.org (AMO) | subgroup: addons.mozilla.org (AMO)] Expected Results 1.AMO homepage loads 2.Verify the category is chosen 3.Verify that you get "No results found" displayed 4.Verify that "stock zoom" is prominently displayed
The solution for this is for zero results, to either 1. show the search with filters pulled out, or 2. Link to a new search with the filters pulled out. We might want to chowse-it.

Summary: Search suggestions when the query doesn't return results → Zero Results Page is confusing
(In reply to comment #4) > The solution for this is for zero results, to either 1. show the search with > filters pulled out, or 2. Link to a new search with the filters pulled out. I like the idea of removing the filters implicitly and adding a 'No results for <original query> in <category>' warning at the top, provided this wasn't done using an advanced search (can we detect that?).
