I recently tried to move a lot of mail (~10,000 messages) from a folder to another folder. This was done with Thunderbird 3.1b1 on an IMAP server.

After selecting the messages and beginning the drag I was beachballed for 45 seconds or so. Once it recovered I dropped the messages onto the destination folder at which point I was immediately beachballed again and shortly thereafter a slow script dialog popped up. I clicked through it and a new one popped up within 30 seconds or so. One of the files referenced was log4moz.js. I forgot to record the other ones.

For someone who often moves mail en masse, this is a serious issue.
Sorry, I mistaken with the version -- I'm on 3.1b2.
