There is no ssh on win7 machines but I bet we have the same problem there.

Can we please fix this?

Which account are you using and where are you connecting from? I randomly chose a few machines out of the ranges you provided and I can reach them all from the Build VPN:

Hi Derek,

My bad; I had got used to ssh into the talos r3 machines through office.m.o and from there is where I can't ssh using the hostnames.

Since I can ssh into these machines directly (without having to go through office) we can do whatever you want with it. WORKSFORME maybe? Your call.
