Don't use MS SANS Serif Font.
Why use anything from Microsoft? Lets just use another font

Which font do you suggest? The reason to use the MS Sans Serif font is maybe
because MS actually has pretty good fonts.
BTW, this is not an all-OS bug. On Linux, Mozilla does not use the MS Sans Serif
font if only because it is not installed.
This is definitely not a critical bug (see the definitions of bug severity).
I suggest this be marked "invalid"

I would recommend Wingdings. It makes the essence of the programming problems
behind more evident.

-->Minor, -->Windows only. Doesn't occur on Mac either.
I would assume that the reason the splash screen uses this font is not because it
comes from Microsoft, but because it is practically guaranteed to be on the
user's system. (And for what it's worth, Wingdings is a Microsoft font too.)
Severity: critical → trivial
OS: All → Windows 95
Hardware: All → PC
Summary: Don't use MS SANS Serif Font → Don't use MS Sans Serif Font

windows computers have fonts other then MS ones. Why can't we use one
of those. The critical thing was a little bit of a joke (anyone here humor
around here?) I just think that we shouldn't be using MS fonts in
something that competes with MS. That's like staroffice using Microsoft
Query.

Chaning the qa contact on these bugs to me. MPT will be moving to the
owner of this component shortly. I would like to thank him for all his hard
work as he moves roles in mozilla.org...Yada, Yada, Yada...

Well ok Zach, would you like to suggest a font suitable for the splash screen
which (a) comes with Windows computers but (b) is not a Microsoft font?

This is WONTFIX unless Zach can come up with a better reason than "Microsoft
produced the font". The produced the C libraries too, and we use those.
