When using only 1 tab, the tabs bar is wasting space into the user interface main window.
Currently I haven't enought space to read the content of my mails as I used to do with the previous version of Thunderbird.
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
Thunderbird could hide the tabs bar when there is only 1 tab.
An other solution would be to allow the end user to disable the tabs bar.

Note that there is no more space to read my messages into the message pane.

there is a hidden preference mail.tabs.autoHide - set this to true and tabs are hidden when only exist. install viewabout extension will give you access to config via the view menu. (also, compactheader add-on can also save you room in the message pane.)
