I have the box checked to automatically check and download new messages but it doesn't work properly. I sent myself a message and waited the 10 minutes I have set to retrieve messages but it doesn't get them. I click get mail and then it comes in. I have seen other people that have this problem but no solution for it. I have tried un-checking the boxes and closing TB and restarting and rechecking the check and download messages but it still doesn't work. I upgraded from version 2.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.send your self an email
2.wait for the time plus a couple of minutes
3.press send and receive and the message comes in.

Are you using POP ?
Any errors in Tools -> Error console ?
Can you list which of the check boxes you've checked ?
I have the same problem. Messages are not automatically downloaded. In prior versions of TB, this was never a problem. It is only a recent phenomenon.
