User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 Lightning/1.0b1 Thunderbird/3.0.4 Moin Moin. Starting with my thunderbird 2 I recognised, that some of the mailfilterrules (using the assignment of tags) had not been applied within the correct order during the mail-download-process. However, there was a simple workaround.: Namely to move the new mails into an extra-folder, delete all of their tags (thrice, as some tags had been assigned more than once), and apply the filterrules anew on this specific folder. By the way, a good comfort function would be to memorise the "filter for" (backtranslated from my German thundie at the top of the mail-filter-window) as well as the "apply selected filter(s) to" (backtranslated, at the bottom of the window) selections even upon closing the filter-window, in order to save the time to reselect them, as this is, a very(!!!) common task. However, in thundie 3 the not tags have been assigned more than once.: 8^). On the other hand the initial bug of the filterrules being applied in a strangely perturbed order(or at least not one, I did recognise) prevails. Most problematic.: Applying all rules at the same time in the extra-folder applies only some(!!!), few(!!!)rules and ignores most of them. This means, that I have to 1. reiterate the aforementioned thundie 2 workaround until no new mails are being tagged, 2. delete all tags, 3. visually search the extra-folder for valid mails, 4. select the appropriate filters. 5. apply them. 6. goto 2. Do You have any remedy or do You know, a harmless way to switch back to thundie 2 without loosing my maildatabase. _Tschuess, __Michael. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.See above. 2. 3. Actual Results: See above. Expected Results: locally deterministic filter-rule application behaviour.

I'm having trouble understanding your issue. For one thing, it's not possible for a message to have multiples of the same tag. Also, it is easy to remove all tags using keyboard "0" (zero). It may help if you try again and 1. test a simplified filter setup to find out what triggers or helps get rid of the issue, so remove some filters 2. describe only the filter criteria and actions as seen in the filter screens 3. what type of mail account are these filters associated with?

and you could even attach the filter file to the bug
Michale, your initial report lacks clarity and steps to reproduce

This is the kind of problems I intend to debug if bug 697522 is implemented.
